Abundance: Very Uncommon to Uncommon during spring and fall; possibly Occasional during summer; recorded in 17 counties, 8 in Kentucky and 9 in Tennessee (Map of UCR Distribution); data from bird-monitoring projects are too few to determine a trend in the populations migrating through, or possibly breeding in, the Region (see also Regional Bird-Monitoring Plan).
Status: Transient during spring and fall; possible Summer Resident, based in part on observations in Wayne County, Kentucky, 8 and 13 June 1938 by W. M. Perrygo (Wetmore 1940).
