Long-tailed Jaeger (Stercorarius longicaudus)
Abundance: Occasional; 1 record in 1 Kentucky county (Map of UCR Distribution); data from the Regional bird-monitoring efforts are too few to determine a trend in the population migrating through the Region (see also Regional Bird-Monitoring Plan).
Status: Visitor during fall (1 record); photograph (see link below).

10–14 September 2011 (1— juvenile) Barren River Reservoir, Barren/Allen counties, Kentucky (David L. Roemer photo, Aaron Hulsey). A short account of this sighting may be viewed via this link: First Regional Record of LTJA.
Habitat: Large bodies of water.
YardWatch Results 2003 and 2004: no data.
Foray Results: no data.
Remarks: The record above, the second to be obtained in Kentucky, took place during the initial appearance of the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee in the Region.
