Abundance: Occasional; 3 records, 1 in each of 3 Tennessee counties, each involving a single individual (Map of UCR Distribution); data from the Regional bird-monitoring efforts are too few to determine a trend in the population migrating through the Region (see also Regional Bird-Monitoring Plan).
Status: Transient during fall (3 records).

Extreme Dates:

Habitat: Open areas with an assortment of perches providing unobstructed viewing for 20–30 m; forages from transmission lines and fence wires, as well as from natural perches.
