Results of the 41st Putnam County, Tennessee, Spring Bird Count10 May 2014

Somewhat windy and occasionally rainy weather conditions prevailed most of the day during this Spring Bird Count (SBC) and proved to be less good for bird counting than was the case under somewhat similar conditions last year, with the result that 123 species were found within the boundaries of the county. The warm, clear, dry conditions taking place during the Monday through Thursday leading up to the count may account for the difference in results between the two counts.
