An Upper Cumberland Region ((UCR) Foray was conducted in Bledsoe County 17–22 June 2012 when 102 breeding species were recorded in the county (Table 1). Observers who participated in this event and their initials, as used in other parts of this summary, follow:
Note: A TOS Foray had been conducted in Bledsoe County 19–21 June 1987 by members of the TOS as part of the Tennessee Breeding Bird Atlas project. Results of this foray were incorporated into the Tennessee Breeding Bird Atlas (Nicholson 1997) and were never published separately; consequently, the list (below; Table 2) of 91 breeding species found in Bledsoe County during the 1987 Foray may be of interest.
The general protocol for conducting forays in the UCR may be consulted at the page accessible via this link:

* Numerical data derive from 33 Night Counting Periods. # Although House Wren was listed (perhaps inadvertently) as being detected in Bledsoe County during the 1987 TOS Foray there, this species is not designated as occurring in Bledsoe County in the atlas map for House Wren (Nicholson 1997). Thus, only 99 species were actually detected in Bledsoe County during the Tennessee Breeding Bird Atlas project.
