Listing 262 species of birds that have occurred in Putnam County, Tennessee (located midway between Nashville and Knoxville on I-40), The Birds of Putnam County, Tennessee provides information about many aspects of the birdlife of this topographically diverse county. Results of a 500-stop roadside bird survey of the county during summer and winter are especially noteworthy. Few counties in Tennessee have received as much survey attention as Putnam.
