Comments:

* = tied record high count for Putnam County Spring Bird Count (1 species).  No species new to the Putnam County SBC was observed, leaving the all-time species total for this event at 204.  Several factors combined to reduce the total species found and total individuals counted for many species on this count: rainy conditions prevailed during most of the day; the count was conducted a week after the peak of the spring migration; a low number of parties was available to count; and several of the usual participants could not be present.

The Blue-winged Teal were found at the Lexus Pond on Clemmons Rd. (GKE, NSL, JaF, LH).

The Great Egret was found at the Monterey Lakes on Walker Farm Rd. (SJS).

The Yellow-crowned Night-Heron was an adult at Burgess Falls State Natural Area (DLC, DAD).

The Barn Owl was present at the traditional site in the county (DLC, DAD).

The Loggerhead Shrike was found on Foster Circle (GKE, NSL, JaF, LH).

The Brown-headed Nuthatches were found at the Cookeville Golf Course for the 10th consecutive SBC conducted in Putnam County (WAW, TMS, MPO).

The Dickcissels were found on Ball Hill Rd. (DLC, DAD).
