Abundance: Very Uncommon at all seasons; recorded in 15 Regional counties, 4 in Kentucky and 11 in Tennessee (Map of UCR Distribution); data from the Regional bird-monitoring efforts are too few to determine a trend in the population residing in the Region (see also Regional Bird-Monitoring Plan).

Status: Permanent Resident; photograph [juvenile; note downy feathers] (Stephen J. Stedman; Putnam County, Tennessee; 29 May 2002).

Regional High Count, CBC/CBB High Count: 6 (5 January 2019, Wayne County CBC); FBC/FBB High Count and SBC/SBB High Count: 2 (several counts).

Breeding: Confirmed (Recent).

Habitat: Abandoned silos are currently the most likely sites in which to locate this reclusive species.
