            Describes active RCWO colonies on DBNF in McCreary and Pulaski counties.  In Pulaski Co., Colony 5032,
        located south of Mt. Victory and first discovered during the winter of 1943
1944, harbored an active nest with
        adults feeding nestlings 30 May and 12 June 1980. In McCreary Co., Colony 5050, located just north of the
        Beaver Creek Wilderness Area and first noted in 1978, consisted of 2 adults feeding nestlings 4, 11, and 12
        June 1980; Colony 6061, located east of Whitley City and first noted in 1978, harbored 2 adults 18 and 24 July
        1980; Colony 6033, located north of Whitley City and first noted in 1979, was inactive; Colony 5061, located in

Spofford, W. R. 1949. Fall Flight of Hawks at Fall Creek Falls State Park. Migrant 20 (1): 16.

            A large flight of hawks, totaling "thousands" of birds, was reported in the park 25 September 1948; at least
        26 were shot by one gunner.  The report was made to the author by the park superintendent, B. Bayliss, who
        recollected similarly large flights "many years ago."
